TECgirls Take Flight Education Programme

The Take Flight Education Programme is set to inspires girls across Cornwall and Devon to explore the exciting world of aerospace, aviation, and engineering. Through hands-on workshops, Challenge Days, and age-appropriate activities, girls from primary school to further education will gain practical skills in design, teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering.

Take Flight Mentors Club

Primary Schools

10 primary schools across the southwest will take part in our hybrid after-school club focused on aerospace and engineering. This club will help over 100 girls explore exciting hands on aerospace activities, all linked to future careers. The club also provides teachers with much needed industry based curriculum support and career connections.

Take Flight Challenge Day

Secondary Schools

This is a hands-on day for 100 Year 9 girls across Cornwall and Devon. They will work in teams to explore rocket design, build their own mini autonomous space rovers and hear from local aerospace and engineering role models. Though hands on activities, this day is focused on helping them discover career pathways and opportunities in engineering and aerospace.

Work Experience

16- 18 Year Olds

Offering young women aged 16–18 in Cornwall a unique opportunity to experience aerospace and engineering careers, through visits to local employers, team building engineering activities, and a chance to learn metal work and quality control bu working on a a real Spitfire.
