Primary School:
Mentors After School Club

Our mentors afterschool clubs are a hybrid offering that focusing on empowering girls to be leaders in technology, engineering and creative digital within their schools. Working with KS2 girls and their teachers, we run the club live online every week.

Students who take part in the club will be encouraged to be MENTORS to the rest of the school, support their peers and even help their teachers run the club again. Just as some schools have house captains or sports leaders, we hope that the schools we work with will be able to make the most of their new STEM experts! Each of the girls will be given small enamel badges that they can wear to celebrate their achievements. Critically this will give the girls even more confidence in their skills and will subtly show other students that girls can be great at tech, engineering and creative digital!

Secondary School:
Pioneer Challenges

TECgirls Challenges give girls in secondary schools the chance to become pioneers in exciting fields like aerospace engineering, environmental data, and marine technology. TECgirls Challenges have been created to run either in lessons or as a part of a club and they are based on national programs and STEM competitions.

Each Challenge connects students with real-world issues and inspiring role models working in Cornwall’s STEM industries. TECgirls will provide a guide for each school on how to run student led clubs for each challenge, supported by an in person inspiration day. These challenges build confidence, curiosity, and help students see how they might move into the world of STEM.
