How can AI help us deepen learning, develop our teaching and do things we haven’t been able to do before? How to we continue to challenge AI and adress safety concerns, while also preparing young people for the future? What comes next for AI in education?
AI is already changing how young people learn, how teachers work and what schools need to respond to. Alongside exciting new possibilities come serious concerns around safeguarding and the impact AI is already having on independent thinking. The challenge for education is how we use it to deepen learning, expand opportunities and help people achieve things they could not do before in a way that keeps them safe and prepares them for an unknown future.
Now in its fourth year, the Cornwall AI in Education Summit brings educators, researchers and industry voices together to examine these issues critically, share classroom experiences and explore what responsible practice could look like. Our conversation has moved from “What is AI?” to “How do we use it?” and “Is it safe, and how do we use it well?”. Asking “What comes next?” means continuing to confront those questions as the technology and our understanding of its effects develop.
We will make space for difficult conversations, while also exploring if there are ways we can start to use AI better for ourselves and for students? Now AI is everywhere, how do we ensure it is being used well to enhance learning not replace it.
Join us for a talk of insightful talks and engaging workshops with a focus on skills and lessons you can use in your schools right away. We're working hard to create sessions for everyone from Primary through to Further Education, and we will have sessions specifically focused on school admin support.
