Education Leading
the AI Conversation

The 2026 Cornwall AI in Education Summit brought together over 100 teachers, education leaders, and policymakers to explore how AI can be approached with purpose, policy, and best practice across schools across the far South West. In partnership with Truro & Penwith College, Digital Futures Cornwall and Truro High School, the summit created a space for diverse voices from education, local authorities, industry, research, charities, and business to share insights and spark meaningful conversations.

Across three workshop strands, the day covered AI literacy in the classroom, whole-school implementation, and governance. Participants explored how to teach AI responsibly, integrate humanities in an AI-driven world, support students in using AI ethically, and apply AI tools to reduce workload, improve safeguarding, and scale solutions across schools and MATs.

The summit also addressed challenging topics such as data protection, bias, mental health risks linked to AI companions, and our ethical responsibility to empower young people as informed AI citizens.

We were proud to welcome two outstanding keynote speakers to this year’s summit. Alex More brought national and international expertise in the safe, ethical, and strategic use of AI in education, working closely with schools, MATs, and global organisations to shape policy, practice, and pedagogy. Alongside Alex, Caitlin Gould, Director of TECwomen CIC and the TECgirls project, offered a vital safeguarding and inclusion lens, championing young people as they navigate AI-driven futures.

Guest Speakers

In addition to our keynotes, this years summit featured a diverse lineup of subject leaders, educators, and industry experts, bringing first-hand insight into the opportunities and challenges of AI in education. Our speakers and workshop leaders shared expertise from across education, research, local government, charities, and business, ensuring discussions reflected the real-world complexity of AI in schools.
