About the event

Parents, carers and children are invited to join us for a morning of curated family conversations around first phones. From understanding how parent controls work to important conversations about social media, AI and screen time. In this session we invite parents and children to come together to discuss how to use their first phone safely and help build trust through open communication tools.

The workshop will cover:

  • Why do we need a phone and what is the right one for you?

  • What are parental controls, how do they work, and why are they important?

  • Are mobile phone games safe? Discussion of the risks of "free" games and apps aimed at young people.

  • Critical conversations about social media and AI.
